Clinical Hypnotherapy
Hypno/Psychotherapy is a powerful way of resolving psychological problems. Problems ranging from anxiety, stress, phobias and panic attacks can be helped with Hypno/Psychotherapy.
In truth, hypnosis is a state of mind, as is waking consciousness, sleep and mediation. We have all experienced hypnosis at numerous times in our lives. Hypnosis is like a daydream where the mind is acutely focused on an internal state. The experience is one of tuning out the outside world, and tuning in your inner reality. The key to good hypnotic trance is relaxation. When the body relaxes the mind relaxes with it. This relaxation causes the conscious mind to stand down and allows you to become more aware of your deeper subconscious mind.
The conscious mind is that part of your mind that you use on a daily basis. It is a rational, analytical mind. Supporting that mind is a subconscious. The subconscious is the part of your mind that runs all of your habits. It houses all of your attitudes. It is the storehouse of every one of your memories (even those memories that you don’t know you’ve forgotten) and finally it is an emotional mind, it works on feelings.
Emotion is the language of the subconscious. It is therefore a more honest mind. It will tell you how you feel about a particular person or event and tell you how it is to you. This is very important in hypnotherapy because we follow emotion when in hypnotic trance. The mind, like the body, is a self-healing mechanism, and seeks to heal itself. When you cut your finger you don’t have to continuously look at it and command it to heal. In the same way the subconscious mind will seek to heal itself and will follow the emotional path to do it. However the mind, like the body, sometimes needs a little help. That’s where a Hypno/Psychotherapist comes in.
