I am the founder of A Helping Mind and I am also a counsellor at East Galway & Midlands Cancer Support in Ballinasloe and St Catherine’s Counselling Service in Tallaght.
I have experience helping individuals who struggle with anxiety, panic attacks, depression, low self-confidence, low self-worth, stress, burnout, anger, trauma (from emotional, physical, and sexual abuse), loss and bereavement, life-changing diagnosis, carer burden, negative self-image and gender identity.
I provide a non-judgemental, empathic and safe space for you to be heard, valued and supported through whatever challenges you are struggling with.
From our first session, you will see that I am down to earth, honest and open. As I get to know your unique challenges, environment and experiences, I become better able to support you in three key areas:
- I provide coping mechanisms and skills to help relieve the impact of immediate challenges you are facing
- I help you to understand and become aware of how your thoughts, feelings and behaviours develop
- I help you to develop lasting positive change as you realise your full potential.
I incorporate a person-centred, holistic and pluralistic counselling and psychotherapeutic approach, integrating a number of therapeutic theories and interventions to best suit your needs.
While my preference is to see clients face to face, I do offer counselling services both online and over the phone.
