Lorraine Larkin

Integrative Therapist

Area of Expertise:

Lorraine is an integrative and exploratory therapist who works with children, adolescents, and adults. Her approach is deeply rooted in unwavering empathy, genuine care, and authentic connection, and she wants people to feel safe building a trusting therapeutic relationship — a value at the core of her work. Interventions from family systems therapy, CBT, psychoanalytic teachings, mindfulness, body/mind healing, solution-focused work, narrative, and play therapy shape her integrative, evidence-informed approach. Her practice is rooted in holistic methods and guided by each individual’s unique needs, strengths, and goals, whether addressing current challenges or pursuing personal growth and transformation. In a typical session with Lorraine, you might start by talking about what’s going on in your life and how you’ve been feeling lately. However, sometimes there are no words, and depending on your comfort level with expression and interests, you could try drawing or painting, moving gently, or sharing stories in writing, gently guided by Lorraine. Sometimes you might try mindfulness exercises or explore feelings through music or play. Each session is guided by what feels right for you, and Lorraine will check in regularly to see what is helping and what you might want to try (or not). The goal is always to create a space where you feel safe, heard and supported. Lorraine brings over 20 years of clinically relevant experience working with people facing mental health challenges, supported by continuous training and ongoing development to enhance her work with individuals facing a wide range of mental health challenges, including (but not limited to) generalised anxiety and depression, addiction, work and relationship issues and challenges arising from neurodivergent challenges.
